Now that the health and saefty protocols have been agreed upon, the 2020 MLB season is set to begin either July 23 or 24, with players reporting for spring training on July 1.

Each team's schedule hasn't officially been set just yet, but they reportedly know how their 2020 schedule will be broken down by opponent.

In a statement, MLB commissioner Rob Manfred said that MLB has submitted a 60-game regular-season schedule for review by the Players Association.

"Major League Baseball is thrilled to announce that the 2020 season is on the horizon," Manfred said. "We have provided the Players Association with a schedule to play 60 games and are excited to provide our great fans with Baseball again soon."

According to MLB Network's Jon Heyman, the plan is for each team to play 40 games against their divisional foes and the remaining 20 against their interleague geographical counterpart (i.e. the NL East would play the AL East).

So if that's true here's how the Mets' schedule would break down:

10 games vs. Washington Nationals

10 games vs. Philadelphia Phillies

10 games vs. Atlanta Braves

10 games vs. Miami Marlins

4 games vs. New York Yankees

4 games vs. Boston Red Sox

4 games vs. Tampa Bay Rays

4 games vs. Baltimore Orioles

4 games vs. Toronto Blue Jays

It's also been reported that the 2020 season will have a universal designated hitter and all extra innings will begin with a runner at second base.

Assuming all games can be played safely, the 2020 season won't look like any other in baseball history.
