The Devils cleaned up in the first round of the 2020 NHL Draft, selecting three new prospects for their squad. They took RW Alexander Holtz (No. 7), C Dawson Mercer (No. 18) and D Shakir Mukhamadullin with those choices.

Now they're looking for some diamonds in the rough in the other rounds on Wednesday. Here's the Devils selections from Day 2 of the Draft:

Round 3, Pick 84: G Nicolas Daws

"Nico" has played for the OHL's Guelph Storm since 2017 as well as Canada's under-20 national team.

He had a career-best in goals against average of 2.48 last season with a 92.4 save percentage.

Round 4, No. 99: C Jaromir Pytlik

Pytlik played in the OHL last season with the Soo Greyhounds. A Czech Republic native, he was actually coached by legendary Devil Patrick Elias during his time with the national team. He had 50 points (22 goals, 28 assists) in 56 games last season.

Round 4, No. 120: D Ethan Edwards

Edwards played in the Alberta Junior Hockey League last season with the Spruce Grove Saints, totaling nine goals and 24 assists. He’s not the prototypical defenseman at just 5-foot-10, 165 pounds, so his fundamental play will get him acclimated to the league. Edwards is set to play with the University of Michigan this year.

Round 5, No. 130: C Artem Shlaine

Shlaine was born in Russia but has played his high school hockey in Minnesota at Shattuck-St. Mary’s Prep. He led the team in points last year with 78 (26 goals, 52 assists), which is very impressive. But his junior year was even better with 90 points over 56 games. Shlaine is set to play for UConn this year.

Round 6, No. 161: Benjamin Baumgartner

At 5-foot-9, 165 pounds, the 20-year-old Baumgartner has been skating in the Swiss league with HC Davos for some time now. Last season, he had seven goals and 20 assists in 37 games at the highest level. The Austria native is still playing with them now.
