Former Rangers goalie Henrik Lundqvist was back on the ice on Tuesday roughly two months after undergoing open-heart surgery.

Lundqvist tweeted "the best type of workday!" along with a video of him in net.

Last Wednesday, Lundqvist tweeted a positive update after a checkup with his doctor.

"Today is a good day," Lundqvist said. "The checkup with the doctor this morning reaffirmed what I've been feeling last few weeks, everything looking great. It energized me so much I had to go out for a run."

On Dec. 17, Lundqvist announced that he was pausing his playing career due to a heart condition. Soon after, he announced that he needed to undergo open-heart surgery for an aortic valve replacement, aortic root, and ascending aortic replacement.

Lundqvist's tenure with the Rangers ended after last season, with him signing a one-year deal with the Washington Capitals after being bought out by New York.
