By the numbers, Williams has provided a steady presence, totaling 18 tackles (four for loss) and two sacks (four quarterback hits) while starting all four games. Pass-rushing production alone is up after recording just half a sack during the eight-game 2019 season with the Giants.

"Yeah, I mean, I think the biggest difference is just being more confident in myself and knowing that -- don't take time to get to a move," Williams said. "Don't react too much to what I'm given -- instead of reacting, just more attack, you know? And that's just going into the confidence, like I said.

"There'll be times where I'll throw a move and it'll work, but I'll see myself on film where it took me like two seconds to get to that move and dissect what's going on before I get to the move, whereas like now, I'm trying to -- if it doesn't work on the first time, just keep on throwing it. But just hurry up and get to a move."

The Giants (0-4) signed Williams to a one-year franchise tender. Williams has something to prove ahead of his free agency next offseason, and the latest opportunity presents itself Sunday at 4:25 p.m. against the Dallas Cowboys (1-3) from AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

"Yeah, that's something I've been talking a lot with (defensive coordinator and assistant head) coach (Patrick) Graham and (defensive line) coach (Sean) Spence(r)," Williams said. "But then also ... (former NFL defensive lineman) Richard Seymour. I mean, he's like a mentor to me. I talk to him a lot and I think he just helped me work on mindset, and that's where the confidence part comes in -- where just know who you are and just be confident and just go out there with a mean mindset."
