The Last Dance documentary about Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls showed some sides of the legendary basketball player that we might not have known otherwise, with His Airness addressing some of the narratives that were all over the news during his playing days -- good and bad.

One of the bad storylines was his supposed gambling addiction that he tried to nip in the bud, but never had success doing so. Jordan's competitive nature would involve money at times, whether it be playing cards with teammates on the plane, or on the golf course -- another big hobby for him outside of basketball.

Well, Giants legendary linebacker Lawrence Taylor knows a thing or two about that side of Jordan on the links from their high-stakes golf matches in the past.

Speaking with the New York Post's Steve Serby, Taylor recounted how Jordan was always super competitive, and betting only increased that mindset.

"Of all the people I know, he's probably the most competitive person I know," Taylor said. "He'll bet on a daggone 50-foot putt and goddammit, if he bets on it, nine times out of 10 he's gonna make it.

"Don't get it confused. He is trying to win every bet. He might not care, but he is trying to win every bet. Everything that is out there. He's trying to win at all times. And there's nothing wrong with that."

Both products of UNC in their respective sports, Taylor actually met Jordan on a basketball court when he went back to North Carolina to finish his degree.

"My senior year when I went to the Giants, I came back to school to finish up that summer," Taylor recalled. "And he was there at Carolina getting ready for the season, but we played a lot of basketball, we hung out a lot. I consider him a good friend."

Once they were both done with their careers, Taylor and Jordan used to book tee times together at Bear's Club in Jupiter, Fla. -- a prominent golf course founded by Hall of Famer Jack Nicklaus. And as one would expect...

"It's hard to get into Michael Jordan's group," Taylor said.

"We used to play at least once or twice a week. I haven't played with him much lately. He's doing his thing, I'm doing my thing."

So there's only one question left to ask: Who won the most money in the end?

"When it comes to the big money, I may have won more of the big money than he has," Taylor admitted. "I wish I had a tally but we don't have a tally. It's not all about money. It's all about my drive and his drive. I think as far as that goes, we're pretty even there."
