When the Giants and former management signed Kenny Golladay prior to the 2021 season, they expected him to be a No. 1 WR for Daniel Jones and deserving of the four-year, $72 million deal.

Now, in the second season of his contract, Golladay still hasn't scored a touchdown in a Giants uniform and only played two snaps in Sunday's victory over the Carolina Panthers. It was unclear why Golladay wasn't on the field much during the Week 2 game, as the 28-year-old told reporters after Wednesday's practice that he wasn't happy about the lack of playing time.

“I didn’t like the decision whatsoever," Golladay said.

The 6-foot-4 receiver said that he's going to prepare for Monday night against the Dallas Cowboys like he's going to be playing, adding that the situation has been a "little confusing." Golladay was asked what it was like to be on the sidelines and not playing while healthy, saying that he did his best to remain focused on the game in case he went in to play.

"It was a little different," Golladay said. "I only got two snaps, so the whole time I had positive energy on the sideline, I wasn't mad. Accepted the role. Just tried to stay locked in, as far as just mentally on the sideline in case I do get in there and the ball come my way, I won't be checked out to the point where now I'm making mistakes or dropping the ball. So I just try to stay locked in."

Golladay was then questioned if he really does "accept the role" of not getting into the game, and was direct in his response.

"I mean, I don't have a choice," Golladay said. "Like I said, I don't agree with it."

He added, "I should be playing regardless... That's a fact."

During Week 1 against the Tennessee Titans, Golladay played 46 snaps (77 percent), but made just two receptions for 22 yards in the win. Those are his only catches this season after playing just three percent of the Week 2 win. In 16 games across two seasons in New York, he's made 39 receptions for 543 yards and no touchdowns. Golladay was asked if he wants to be traded or remain with the Giants if his playing time is going to be limited.

"We're not going to get into all of that right now, we're going into Week 3," he said. "We're gonna see how it goes, there's a lot of football left."

Instead of Golladay, the Giants have been targeting Richie James (10 receptions, 110 yards), Sterling Shepard (eight receptions, 105 yards, one TD), and David Sills V (three receptions, 37 yards) over the first two games of the season.
