After missing the past three games prior to their Week 14 bye, Giants edge rusher Kayvon Thibodeaux remained sidelined due to a shoulder injury and did not practice on Wednesday.

Interim head coach Mike Kafka said Thibodeaux "looks good," but is "just not ready yet."

It's still unclear if he'll be able to suit up for New York's Week 15 game against the Washington Commanders on Sunday.

The 2022 No. 5 overall pick has had a rough fourth season, recording only 2.5 sacks and 25 total tackles over 10 games.

Thibodeaux flashed his potential in 2023 with 11.5 sacks, 50 total tackles, and three forced fumbles, but it's been downhill since. He was limited to 12 games in 2024 and was underwhelming when healthy with just 5.5 sacks and 28 total tackles.

The Giants picked up his fifth-year option for the 2026 season, although, his future appears to be a bit murky with Brian Burns signed to a long-term deal and Abdul Carter on a rookie contract. New York said at the trade deadline they had "no interest" in dealing him at that time.

In addition to Thibodeaux, eight other Giants did not practice Wednesday, including DL D.J. Davidson (illness), OLB Victor Dimukeje (knee), P Jamie Gillan (left knee), CB Nic Jones (shoulder), DL Rakeem Nuñez-Roches (ankle), WR Gunner Olszewski (concussion), and G Greg Van Roten (shoulder). Tight end Theo Johnson (toe) was limited, while RB Tyrone Tracy (hip) was a full participant.
