Well Giants fans, put that trip to Canton on hold.

Legendary Big Blue quarterback Eli Manning was not elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame on Thursday night.

Manning falls just short in his first year on the ballot. Nominees need 80 percent of the vote to be elected. Manning was one of five finalists who were eligible for the Hall of Fame in their first year, and all five didn't make it. The others include LB Luke Kueckly, DE Terrell Suggs, K Adam Vinatieri and G Marshal Yanda.

Those who did make the cut for the 2025 Class are DE Jared Allen, CB Eric Allen, WR Sterling Sharpe and TE Antonio Gates.

Manning certainly built a strong enough resume over the course of his 16-year career, which came to an end in 2019, but it appears that he’ll have to wait a bit longer to receive the highly-anticipated call.

The 44-year-old workhorse was a true ironman despite taking a beating for most of his career, logging 210 consecutive starts from 2004 to 2017, which remains the third-longest streak in NFL history.

He holds the franchise records for passing yards (57,023), touchdowns (366), and completions (4,895) — but most notably led the Giants to a pair of Super Bowl victories over Tom Brady and the New England Patriots (XLII and XLVI).

Manning took home the Super Bowl MVP in each of those games, making him just the sixth player in league history to do so.

He also made four Pro Bowl appearances — not including these last couple of years as a coach — and was a one-time Walter Payton Man of the Year award recipient.

Manning will have another chance to get in next year.
