Andrew Thomas will have an MRI on his foot on Monday, the Giants’ left tackle told reporters after New York’s 17-7 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday night.

“Something’s sore, I don’t know exactly what it is,” Thomas said after the game, adding he underwent an X-ray, but will require further imagining to know “exactly what’s going on.”

Thomas was seen limping during Big Blue’s lone scoring drive – a 16-play, 79-yard marathon in the third quarter that included two 4th down conversations to level the score – and said that is when the injury first occurred.

When asked how worried the tackle was about the potential for the injury to derail his season he said, “We’ll see, I don’t know exactly. We’ll see.”

Thomas struggled at times on Sunday night, allowing two sacks to the Bengals’ Pro Bowl pass rusher Trey Hendrickson – one before the scoring drive and one after.

“Not great, not good enough,” he said of his game.

In the second quarter with the Giants backed up on their own 9-yard line, Daniel Jones hit Darius Slayton on a slant that the wide receiver took for 56 yards in the team's lone explosive play on offense of the evening. However, it was wiped out by an ineligible man downfield penalty on Thomas.

“It was an RPO [run-pass option],” he said, “Similar play happened versus Seattle last week, they didn’t call it. It’s just 50-50, sometimes they call it, sometimes they don’t.”

Head coach Brian Daboll thought it was the right call by the officials and explained it as a matter of circumstance with the RPO call.

"Read the defense, usually get it out of your hands quick, I thought [Jones] did," the head coach said. "Andrew's blocking the run and it looked to me like it was the right call."

And unlike last week, Thomas said he knew right away when the flag was thrown it was on him and the big play was coming back.
