Gerrit Cole selected to represent Yankees in 2023 MLB All-Star Game

New York sends two players to Seattle for midsummer classic

Gerrit Cole joins Aaron Judge as the Yankees’ representatives in the 2023 MLB All-Star game in Seattle on July 11.

Cole holds an 8-2 record and a 2.79 ERA this season with 118 strikeouts in 18 starts. Cole has earned his sixth career All-Star appearance and his third selection with New York.

Cole joins fellow American League starting pitchers in Shohei Ohtani, Luis Castillo, Sonny Gray, Nathan Eovaldi, Kevin Gausman, Shane McClanahan, Framber Valdez and Michael Lorenzen. 

Judge was announced as an American League starter on Thursday after tallying 19 home runs in 49 games so far in 2023, though he won't be able to play in the game as he continues to recover from a toe injury.
