Why Wilson Makes Sense

GM Joe Douglas has been heavily involved in the wide receiver market. The Jets and Kansas City Chiefs agreed on a trade for Tyreek Hill, but he wanted to go to Miami. They also were trying to get Deebo Samuel before tonight. Wilson is not a bad consolation prize after missing out on Hill and Samuel, though.

Wilson's technical skills aren't the best, but he makes up for it with his run-after-catch abilities -- a crucial factor for a great offense in the NFL. Being able to turn those screens into first downs, or 10-yard catches into 20 or 30, makes all the difference.

Wilson's shifty and has great hands. While Corey Davis and Elijah Moore can be more of your safety blankets, Wilson is your Swiss Army knife who can do virtually anything if he has some room to run.

Now, speaking of Moore, Wilson's talents will likely be best in the slot. Moore thrives there, too. But Mike LaFleur should be able to get creative with these two to get them involved in any way he can.

The Jets could use someone who can break the top off a defense and provide a real threat even when he doesn't have the ball, and now they have it. Sending Wilson in motion could show Zach Wilson what the defense is thinking on any play because there will be someone looking his way at all times.
