Top prospects Francisco AlvarezMatt Allan, Pete Crow-Armstrong, Brett Baty, J.T. Ginn, Ronny Mauricio, Josh Wolf, and Mark Vientos are among 60 Mets players who are currently participating in the team's Instructional League in Port St. Lucie, Fla.

Alvarez, a catcher, is viewed as the Mets' top prospect, per Baseball America.

Allan, a power right-hander, is their top pitching prospect.

In addition to the Instructional League currently taking place in St. Lucie, the Mets will conduct an instructional league at the team's academy in Boca Chica, Dominican Republic, the team announced Thursday.

The league in the D.R., running from Nov. 2 to Dec. 10, will consist of 40 international players from within the organization.

The academy will be staffed by 10 coaches and several members of the support staff.

While some of the Mets' top prospects were part of the 60-man player pool during the regular season, allowing them to get repetitions and be under the eye of the staff, training and game activity of all minor leaguers and international prospects has been thrown off due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The pandemic led to the cancellation of the 2020 minor league season, and it is not clear what kind of impact that might have on the development of all the impacted players.
