Former Mets outfielder and eight-year MLB veteran Terrance Gore has died at the age of 34.

A social media post from his wife, Britney, said Gore died after suffering complications during a routine surgical procedure.

Gore played for five teams over eight seasons from 2014-2022. He was a member of two World Series rosters during his career, one with the Kansas City Royals in 2015 and then the Atlanta Braves in 2021.

Listed at 5-foot-7 and known for his speed as a pinch-runner, Gore also played for the Chicago Cubs in 2018, the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2020, and 10 games for the Mets in 2022 before retiring. He earned a World Series ring for his brief time with the Dodgers.

With New York, he stole three bases, recorded a hit, and scored a run.

Gore was drafted by the Royals in the 20th round of the 2011 MLB Draft out of Gulf Coast Community College in Panama City, FL. The outfielder made his debut in 2014 with KC and played there until 2017, before returning in 2019 and having his best season with 14 hits and a .275 average over 37 games.

Over 112 career games and just 85 plate appearances, Gore recorded 43 stolen bases out of 52 attempts. He also stole five bases in the postseason across 11 games, only being caught once. At the plate, he recorded just 16 career hits. Gore also played 765 games over 11 years in the minor leagues with 11 different teams.

Gore was mourned in social media posts by MLB, the Royals, the Syracuse Mets, and the Omaha Storm Chasers, who first shared the news. He is survived by his wife and three children.
