Former Mets ace Matt Harvey made his 2020 debut with the Kansas City Royals on Wednesday night.

Harvey threw 54 pitches (33 strikes) over three innings, allowing three earned runs on four hits while striking out four Cincinnati Reds and walking two.

After two scoreless innings, he allowed a two-out single to Nick Castellanos followed by back-to-back home runs from Jesse Winker and Eugenio Suarez.

The 31-year-old signed a minor-league deal with the Royals in late July, following an offseason in which he reportedly considered playing in Korea or Japan.

He had last appeared in the majors with the Los Angeles Angels in 2019, making 12 starts with a 7.09 ERA before he was eventually released.
