The Giants will again be short handed on the offensive side of the ball this Sunday when they face the Jets, as Evan Engram and Sterling Shepard have been ruled out for the game.

Engram suffered a mid-foot sprain last Monday against the Cowboys and had pretty much expected not being able to suit up Sunday when he spoke to the media earlier in the week.

"Not right n-, I mean, that's all [up to] trainers and coaches," Engram told reporters on Wednesday, cutting himself off when asked if he expects to be active.

"Take it this week and got the bye week next week and we'll see where we are."

As for Shepard, he continues to battle with concussion like symptoms and did not practice all week, despite taking the field in a helmet and pads on Thursday, and having a catch on the sidelines with some teammates.

SNY's Ralph Vacchiano reported on Wednesday that the team was considering placing Shepard on IR, but that any potential decision was likely a "long way" off.

Shepard suffered his second concussion of the season in Week 5 against the Vikings after suffering his first during Week 1. The receiver was cleared to play Monday's game after practicing all of last week, but Shepard's symptoms returned over the weekend and he reported it to the team.

These injuries now once again leave rookie starting quarterback Daniel Jones with fewer weapons to work with, and leave the Jets more likely to dare him to throw as they put a heavier focus on controlling Saquon Barkley this Sunday.
