Greenberg might not have heard Foxworth even say Patriots QB Jarrett Stidham, who seems to be the man Bill Belichick is trusting to take over at the moment for Tom Brady, could be that guy three years from now because of who he plays for.

"I'm not even sure I can continue. What are you guys watching?!" Greenberg shouted when he finally returned to his chair. "I mean what are we watching here? Have you watched Sam Darnold? Have you seen the talent? Do you know how young Sam Darnold is?

"Sam Darnold is 22 years old. He's had mono since he came into the NFL. He's had two coaches, two systems and no talent around him. He's got a rocket for an arm. Sam Darnold is the obvious answer to this question."

While Hasselbeck does have a point in saying that you can't bring up mono when you look at this question, Greenberg's other arguments make sense. Darnold hasn't been surrounded with an even average offensive line, as he's consistently running outside of the pocket to make plays. Also, his weapons in the passing game have been mediocre at best, with Robby Anderson and Jamison Crowder being his top wideouts in the past two seasons.

Darnold certainly has the talent, but things are still in a rebuild mode out at One Jets Drive. GM Joe Douglas has sped that up a bit by revamping the entire offensive line for 2020, and getting a hopeful No. 1 receiver in Denzel Mims. Douglas still needs to bring in more weapons for Darnold to work with, but that will come in time.

So in Year 3 this season, Darnold can start to change the minds of people like Hasselbeck and Foxworth, who both don't believe he will be sitting atop the AFC East throne with Brady gone.

Then, hopefully three years down the road, Greenberg could say "I told you so" to his colleagues. Darnold has a lot to prove until then.
