The 2022 NHL Draft begins on July 7 in Montreal, with all 32 teams looking to add young talent heading into next season and beyond.

The Devils find themselves in prime position with the No. 2 pick, picking in the Top 10 for the fourth straight year and the fifth time in the last six drafts.

Here's a look at who the experts believe the Devils will take with the No. 2 pick ...

LW Juraj Slafkovsky (Finland)

New Jersey will be waiting to land whichever player falls to No. 2. The Devils have Jack Hughes and Nico Hischier as part of their young core from previous drafts.

Ideally, the Devils would want Montreal to take [Shane] Wright so that they can land a natural winger in Slafkovsky who could partner with Hischier or Hughes, instead of adjusting a position of one of their top young players to make them fit on the same line.

LW Juraj Slafkovsky (Finland)

If the Devils are going to use the second pick, they should be looking to the next best available player after Wright. In many minds right now, that’s Slafkovsky. A team has to draft for skill above all else, and flashy numbers in tournament settings have elevated his profile. But the benefit for New Jersey is that this fits a need as well. The Devils are looking to add an impact forward for years to come to give them a 1-2 punch with one of their former first picks Jack Hughes and Nico Hischier. The power forward seems to have the tools this team is looking for to add more dimension to their offense, and the readiness to get them there sooner than later.

LW Juraj Slafkovsky (Finland)

With Jack Hughes, Nico Hischier and Dawson Mercer, the Devils are in good shape down the middle. As New Jersey looks to build its lineup, Slafkovsky brings elite offensive skills in a power forward body (6-4, 218). He's already shown he can excel against older competition in Liiga and at the 2022 Beijing Olympics, where was named the most valuable player. From a physical standpoint, he might be ready to play in the NHL next season.

Uses his great size, reach and strength as an effective active checker in the offensive and defensive zone. Slafkovsky led all players at the 2022 Olympics with seven goals in seven games to help Slovakia win the bronze medal, its first men's Olympic hockey medal.
