We're getting to know players from UConn, Quinnipiac, Sacred Heart and Yale ahead of SNY's Connecticut Ice tournament on Jan. 25-26.


Name: Jason Cotton

School: Sacred Heart

Position: Forward

Height: 6-3

Weight: 190 lbs.

Year: Senior

Facts:

  • Last season he was second on the team in points with 23. 
  • He skated in all 39 games during his first season with SHU notching 21 points on 12 goals and nine assists.
  • His brother David is a senior on Boston College's hockey team.

On Connecticut Ice...

"The one thing I noticed right away with Connecticut is it's such a small state and there's four Division I programs. There's so much talent, and there's such a fun environment up here that I feel like you can always do more," Cotton said. "So finally that we have this tournament I think it's going to draw more people in to watch hockey and be more involved in college hockey."
