Former Net Caris LeVert underwent successful surgery on Monday to treat the renal cell carcinoma on his kidney, the Indiana Pacers announced on Tuesday.
After having the mass removed from his left kidney, which was found during a physical as part of the four-way trade that brought James Harden to Brooklyn, LeVert doesn't need any other treatment -- a great piece of news.
"This trade could've possibly saved me in the long run," LeVert said last week.
"I didn’t have any symptoms. As you know, I was playing in games. I hadn’t missed any games this season yet. I was feeling 100 percent healthy, so in a way this trade definitely showed and revealed what was going on in my body."
In 12 games with the Nets this season, the 26-year-old averaged 18.5 points per game to go along with 6.0 assists, as he was establishing himself as sixth man for Brooklyn.
When LeVert will take the floor as a Pacer for the first time is still unknown, as he is currently out indefinitely.
