Former Jets LB Brandon Copeland is staying in the AFC East to play for the rival Patriots, per the Boston Globe's Jim McBride

Copeland has been with the Jets for the last two seasons, after spending 2015 and 2016 with the Lions. While he collected five sacks and 35 tackles in 16 games with the Jets in 2018, last season wasn't so pleasant for him.

The 28-year-old had to sit out the first four games of the year due to a violation of the league's performance-enhancing drugs policy. When he returned, DC Gregg Williams used him in a depth role, giving him only three starts. Over his 12 games, Copeland had 1.5 sacks, 42 tackles, five tackles for loss and three quarterback hits.

GM Joe Douglas hadn't been showing any interest in Copeland this offseason, so he'll be heading to Foxborough on a one-year deal where he'll have the chance for revenge on his former team twice next year.
