What will the Jets’ offensive line look like this week?

With Max Mitchell injured, the Jets will once again have to shuffle the pack on the offensive line this week and may once again keep their intentions under wraps until right before the game.

Veteran Duane Brown was activated off the IR Saturday and will start on Sunday. Alijah Vera-Tucker enhanced his reputation by holding down that role as the emergency left tackle last week, but the Jets would ideally like to get him back to the guard position to maximize his impact against a productive Dolphins front seven.

Conor McDermott filled in at right tackle against the Steelers and actually held up quite well, but his struggles against the Bengals might make the coaching staff nervous about relying on him to start. They might therefore feel more comfortable giving a shot to one of their recent veteran signings -- Cedric Ogbuehi or Mike Remmers.

How will the Jets slow down Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle?

Miami traded for veteran speedster Tyreek Hill during the offseason, giving them a formidable one-two punch with Jaylen Waddle, who caught over 100 passes as a rookie. The two have combined for almost 900 yards and five touchdowns already this season, but no other Dolphin has 10 catches, so stopping these two could be crucial.

As a bigger, more physical cornerback, covering either of these two could be a challenge for rookie Ahmad Gardner. Jets fans will recall how Antonio Cromartie, a similar type of cornerback, would often struggle against smaller and quicker receivers.

One option could be to employ Gardner against tight end Mike Gesicki from time to time. He has the length and physicality to handle such an assignment, as he showed against Mark Andrews in Week 1, and Gesicki often lines up as a wide receiver anyway.

Can the Jets finally start to stack wins?

While Robert Saleh has spoken about wanting to cash "receipts," he has also said that the Jets can’t get ahead of themselves and need to prove they can "stack wins" before they start believing their own hype. This week’s game is a golden opportunity to start doing that.

The win over the Steelers represented the first time in Saleh’s time as Jets head coach that the team has won two out of three games, so winning their second in a row for the first time and extending that to three out of four could start to make the rest of the league begin to take notice.

The Jets have trailed by two touchdowns in all four of their games so far, though, so they need to start putting together more complete performances if they want to earn some respect.
