Jets GM Joe Douglas has had a great offseason filling holes on his roster for the 2020 season. And after Trumaine Johnson's contract finally came off the books on Tuesday, he has an extra $11 million to work with.

According to OverTheCap.com, the Jets have around $24.7 million still available to spend, and that's a good chunk of change to get an impact player for next season.

So who could Douglas still target on the free agent market who would be worth giving a contract to? The answer is found when lookint at the other holes that still remain -- cornerback and edge rusher being the top two.

With that in mind, here's who Douglas can look at on the market, starting with someone who has been linked to Gang Green for a minute now...

Logan Ryan

Ryan said he was "open for business," but did tell Good Morning Football's Peter Schrager that joining the Jets would make "a lot of sense."

It all comes down to the price tag, though. Ryan was looking for something in the range of $10 million, even if it was for one season. But the Jets -- and other teams -- haven't been willing to sign him at that price.

Ryan was a very solid option for the Titans last season, as he was targeted a bunch and was very productive because of it. Also, he played his college ball at Rutgers while growing up in New Jersey. So the green and white would be bringing his football journey full circle.

"I went to Rutgers, 20 minutes from (MetLife Stadium) so familiar with New Jersey," he told Schrager. "Blue collar, that's how I grew up. I came out of Rutgers in the third round to New England, had to do my job, [and I] continue to do that."

Ryan, 29, had a career-high in tackles (113), passes defended (18), forced fumbles (4), and sacks (4.5), and had four interceptions to boot last season.

Dre Kirkpatrick

If Ryan doesn't drop his price tag, the Jets could look at other cornerback options, and the veteran Kirkpatrick should be among them. His former Bengals teammate Darqueze Dennard is also a free agent, and just a couple years younger at 28 compared to his 30. But Dennard, a former first-round draft pick by the Cincinnati Bengals, hasn't been able to stay healthy.

Kirkpatrick only played six games last season due to a hyperextended knee, but he has been reliable to stay on the field with the exception of a couple games here and there in the seasons prior.

Kirkpatrick had 33 tackles, four passes defended and two tackles for loss in his six games last year. He could easily slot in, like Ryan, opposite Pierre Desir, who signed with the Jets after his release from the Colts.

Markus Golden

Looking at the edge rusher market, the big name is Jadeveon Clowney. But the Jets' interest in Clowney hasn't been there, and that shouldn't change even if they have the resources to do it now.

Instead, Douglas should look at the cheaper options. That was Golden, who signed a one-year, prove-it deal with the Giants as they looked for him to emulate his 2016 season where he had 12.5 sacks. He did have a solid season with 10 sacks in 2019, with a career-high 72 tackles and 27 quarterback hits.

Golden knows what its like to play in MetLife for eight games a season, and Gregg Williams may find a way to deploy him even better than the Giants did. Williams will certainly love his motor, as he doesn't stop until the whistle blows.

Clay Matthews

Yes, the six-time Pro Bowler, All-Pro outside linebacker, Clay Matthews. He's 34 years old now, but he still totaled eight sacks with 37 tackles, two forced fumbles and three passes defended in 13 games last season for the Rams -- his first away from the Packers.

The Jets can't bring in Matthews hoping that he will produce the double-digit sack seasons he was used to having in his prime. But a great veteran presence like his that is still very much productive even at his age would be a great pickup.

Vinny Curry

Another veteran who remains productive, Curry was used sparingly by the Eagles last season, getting only two starts over 16 games. But he still managed five sacks with 27 tackles and 12 quarterback hits.

Curry only made $2.25 million last season, so the Jets could find a deal similar to that while also saving money for someone else in free agency.
