2nd pick: QB Zach Wilson (BYU)

Do the Jets select the second-best quarterback in the class or stick with Sam Darnold? Considering that Darnold has shown no signs of becoming a franchise quarterback and has admitted to "seeing ghosts," it would be best to trade him, especially given that New York will have to pay him a large contract to retain him. It would be smart to move him for a second- or third-round pick. Wilson is a smart quarterback with good arm talent.

23rd pick: RB Najee Harris (Alabama)

Harris was one of the top recruits in the country in 2017, and he showed off his talents as a freshman. He's been tremendous again this past season.

The Jets may think about offering a king's ransom for Deshaun Watson, but instead they go with Wilson at No. 2 to run Mike LaFleur's offense.

23rd pick: WR Rashod Bateman (Minnesota)

Bateman is as well-rounded as any receiver in the class and plays with deceptive yards-after-the-catch skills. Good idea to pick him for Zach Wilson.

2nd pick: QB Zach Wilson (BYU)

A situation that’s been slow played to this point, but with many veteran QBs already being traded, Sam Darnold could be the next in line. If the team does go through with trading the former No. 3 overall pick, it will then clear up exactly what their draft intentions are. Possibly gaining an extra Day 2 pick and maybe a later rounder in that trade, the Jets turn around and select a new signal-caller of the future in Wilson.

23rd pick: (TRADED TO VIKINGS FOR 20th PICK): CB Jaycee Horn (South Carolina)

Reading the tea leaves with Joe Douglas recently coming out and saying that the team will now “answer” calls from teams interested in trading for Darnold, ultimately, in the end, I think that the Jets will end up getting a Day 2 pick plus possibly another late-rounder for the former No. 3 overall selection. Already having the No. 34 overall pick, the second pick in the second round, this is a selection that the team should be aggressive with if a highly rated talent somehow continues to fall. Trading up three spots to acquire Horn, the team now has two young players out on the perimeter of Robert Saleh’s defense as they pair him with Bryce Hall. They still can possibly trade back from No. 34 and recoup the pick(s) that they surrendered to move up in the first round.

I am listening to those in the industry that have known GM Joe Douglas for a long-time. Initially, they projected that the Jets would keep Sam Darnold and either trade down or take the best player available. The tide has turned and most believe that the AFC East franchise will take a quarterback, presumably Wilson.

23rd pick: DL Kwity Paye (Michigan)

New York is targeting some cornerstone additions after swapping Sam Darnold for Zach Wilson. Edge rusher and cornerback should be a priority early. A big, physical cornerback would do Robert Saleh's defense justice but Paye was the best player on the board.
